Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Administrator with experience in civil engineering and / or architecture to support our project management and contract administration processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing contract documents, managing subcontractor agreements, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of construction contracts, project scope management, and regulatory requirements related to civil engineering and architectural projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Review & Management
- Review Scope of Works (SOW) documents for civil and architectural projects, ensuring accuracy in inclusions and exclusions.
- Assess subcontract agreements and prepare a departure schedule based on company policies and industry standards.
- Ensure all contracts comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and industry regulations.
2. Subcontractor & Contractor Coordination
- Complete subcontractor checklists, tender assessments, and contractor evaluation forms for construction projects.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure contractor compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in reviewing bids, contractor qualifications, and subcontractor performance.
3. Contract Compliance & Monitoring
- Track and ensure adherence to contractual obligations, variation orders, extension of time (EOT) requests, and delay notices.
- Monitor contract milestones and deliverables, ensuring compliance with design and construction timelines.
- Identify and mitigate potential contractual risks in coordination with the legal and project management teams.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of contract amendments, change orders, and project correspondences.
- Prepare reports on contract status, risks, compliance issues, and contractor performance.
- Ensure that all drawings, technical documents, and construction contracts are properly archived and accessible.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in Australian client/company is a must.
- Experience in contract administration, construction project management, or procurement.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, subcontract agreements, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or other standard contract forms used in the civil engineering and architecture industry.
- Familiarity with building codes, zoning laws, and construction regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, contract management software, and project management tools.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on large-scale civil and architectural projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other architectural and engineering software.
- Knowledge of construction cost estimation and budgeting processes.
